Capture the Flag
When it comes to any type of battle game, Capture the Flag remains one of the most popular. This can be done in teams of two or more. The aim is to get the flags of the enemy and protect them at your own base, until the end of the game time. You can decide as a group for the length of time that you will play and whether the game will end when the flags of all enemies have reached a home base.
The game is more commonly played with just two teams. There will be defenders at the bases to protect the flag and then attacking members to get the enemy flags. The groups will need to decide before playing as to what happens when someone is hit. The hit player can either be out of the game or face a X second or minute time out. This can also depend on where the player is hit.
Team Deathmatch
Another popular option for Airsoft games is called Team Deathmatch. This is another game that can involves two or more teams.
The aim of the game is to “kill” each member of the enemy forces. The term “frag” can also be used in place of “kill,” as the teams collect “frag points” for each kill they make. Players can decide on a time limit or until there are no players left to end the game. The team with the most frag counts will win.
Friendly fire can happen in Airsoft games types, especially this one. Whether friendly fire causes a team to lose points is up to you when you decide on the rules of the game.
King of the Hill/Mountain/Castle
This is a game with multiple names. The aim is to be King of whatever top point you’re using. One player is named the king to start the game and they stand at the top of the hill. The aim for the other players is to knock that king off and become the new king (and remain there).
While for many children, knocking the king off involves pushing, for Airsoft games, the king is usually knocked off by being hit. However, the king can also knock out players by hitting them with his own weapon.
Players can choose to work in teams or alone. Some will also decide to have a protection detail around the king. It will depend on the rules that you set out before starting to play the game.
Fortress
In fortress, there are two teams. The first will barricade themselves in a fortress, and the aim is for the second team to get everyone out.
When it comes to Airsoft games with a small number of players, this tends to be a popular option. It’s easy to play and doesn’t require a lot of team members on either side. The game ends when everyone is removed from the fortress and then the teams can switch over to play again.
Protect the President
Also known as “Escort,” this game is the fifth most popular of all Airsoft games types. One player is unarmed and his team must escort him from one area to another. The aim is for the second team (and sometimes more teams) to attack and “kill” the president.
In most cases, the attacking teams will hide. When a member of the protection duty is hit, they must leave the game. If the president makes it to the other area without “dying,” that team wins. If the attacking team successfully “kills” everyone and the president, they win.
